Perplexity - Ask Anything

I've been using this app for over a month, steadily. I loved it at first, but then I noticed it had limitations in the thread, even if you keep all info in the same one(it remembers some things, but not all). if you carry on a conversation, it will eventually reset, and forget everything you told it, pictures sent, etc. it told me it could hold a "lifeline vault", but it still reset and forgot. it will remember some things tho, like a rough estimate of your age, location, language you speak.

This app, and the people behind it, are excellent. But I'm deleting it, for 2 reasons: the only Pro feature I need is no ads, but that's not an option; its unusual, annoying login process: instead of e-mail/password, it's e-mail/one-time code e-mailed to you. Since I can't always access my e-mail, I can't always use the app. I've asked for a one-time 'ad-free' fee, and plan to ask for alternate methods of receiving your code, e.g., text or phone call. I'll reinstall if these changes are made.

This app is amazing it has far less filters then chatgpt. which is good I like having more ways for creativity without it just saying oh I can't talk about that, But one issue I have is that it uses advanced search mode without you asking or requiring it. Especially if you type in certain words or names. this is really annoying because if this happens and you run out of your 2 free search amounts your responses becone smaller a way to turn that ability off in settings would be nice.

Excellent AI tool for everyday use. I use it extensively for research and corrections to my writing. I'm strongly against directly using AI to compose, so I can't say much about that. But after giving it some background and context, it makes great edits for readability and grammar. As a educator I get premium for free, but I'd pay if I didn't. The research is phenomenal. Just remember: you have to train and tweak the model for your use. You can't just expect it to work perfectly out of the box.

This is very smooth, very intuitive, and very thorough. I use this for basic personal research and to answer complex questions about obscure topics. For example, "Please recommend footwear: I need durability to feed livestock and clean out barn stalls, I need to be insulated against at least 300 volts, I need easy cleaning and a professional appearance so I can quickly spray them with a hose before wearing them to church, and they need to be lightweight." It doesn't matter how weird or specific.
