MAPS.ME: Offline maps GPS Nav

Trying to use this app for upcoming trip. I had used in 2015 with no issues as all. But now I can't get it to function on my Android phone. It is pestering me to go "Pro" - and I'm OK with that, I'll do it. But how? When I click the button for that all I get is the marketing appeal and a spinning circle. No UI that allows me to actually do it. And when I go to the web site on my desktop PC there is no option or help there either.

it's a nice app. I like the most that it works offline and it's pretty cool how you can see all building shapes. they let you download 10 maps for free. and after that if you want to download more you have to subscribe for maps.me pro. to be honest I really wouldn't mind to be able to download more than 10 maps since every city and region is a separate map. so it would be nice to be able to download more apps for the free tier.

This app got me through many journeys around the world. Simple, effective and thorough offline maps and directions with no frills. Not always up to date with businesses or transit, but they are very detailed when it comes to navigation, and available when you have no SIM card or cell signal. Unfortunately, they've decided to heavily limit offline map storage and availability, locking it behind a pay wall. I'm sure it still functions fine but it's not the reliable free tool it was for years.

This app was my favorite, and one of the few that I valued enough to pay for, even at the somewhat steep price (I thought) -- but it was worth it. Only now it's time to renew, and it won't renew; it continually declines my transaction. So I'm stuck with just a tiny number of maps, and all my saved info is gone. I'll be looking for something else to replace it. :-(

Had this on my device for about 3 minutes and I'm already going to delete it, but I wanted to leave a review first. Downloading a "local" map was easy, even if the "local" area didn't make any sense, and included far too much ocean and not enough nearby area. I scrolled outside of the downloaded area just to see what would happen and was gifted with a popup telling me I needed to download the local area map and that I only had a few FREE downloads left. Not worth it for me.
