Skout - Meet, Chat, Go Live

Very disappointed in this app. My first problem was that it put male as my gender when I'm a woman. Luckily, the support team changed it for me. I'm an introvert & joined Skout since it was recommended as being a place where you could find / make friends with people with shared interests and even book clubs. Not true! There's no way to search for people with shared interests. It only goes by location and who's currently online. Plus the user interface is very rudimentary & not easy to navigate.

Lately it's been more buggy than usual. Often when I open it, it just gets stuck attempting to log in. The only fix is to uninstall and reinstall it. Developer you got any comments on this? Aside from that, the app is ok at best. Lots of scammers and bots. But also some real ppl. But there's so many different reasons why ppl use this app, it's not very likely you'll find someone who's looking for the same thing you are. Messaging is free. Location filter works ok but not when playing stack.

Can't distinguish who is near compared to who is on the other side of the country. There is no order of distance for profiles. When filtering to state, doesn't work. Profiles 1000 miles away still show. If putting a picture up, you can't crop out your face. If I want someone to see what I look like, I'll decide when to do it. How about fixing your app to see who is closer without going thru every profile you see...

Looking for a dating or hookup app? Keep looking because this app is neither. It exists to funnel users to "free" chat and live vid - and all require credit cards lol. This is not a complaint about the number of connections, it's that with every connection the other person gives you their email address, with links to guess what. If you're into paid chat, great, this is an app for you.

Not enough local profiles every "match" either isn't a match to what we are looking for or are more than 500 miles away. If I could, I'd give less than 1 star if I could! That and the fake profiles are too numerous to count. As soon as you block one another pops up with the same picture but a different place. Do not waste your time or money on this app!
