How to Use
The CVS Health app is designed to streamline pharmacy, shopping, and health management tasks, but recent user feedback indicates significant usability and stability issues. (app_description_and_user_feedback)
Getting Started
Source: app_description_and_user_feedback
- Step 1: Download the CVS Health app from the Google Play store. It requires Android 10.0 or higher.
- Step 2: Create an account or log in. Link your ExtraCare card to access deals, coupons, and rewards.
- Step 3: If you plan to use the app for pharmacy pickups, attach a payment method and set your signature to enable scan-and-pay.
- Step 4: Be aware of potential app instability such as log-outs during transactions. It's a good idea to ensure you have a stable internet connection and to check for confirmation emails after completing a transaction.
Key Features (from app listing)
Source: app_description
- ExtraCare in-store scan for quick checkout and savings.
- App-only deals, coupons, and rewards management through your ExtraCare card.
- Prescription management: barcode scanning for fast pickup, refill orders, delivery, and history.
- Health services: Schedule vaccines, clinic visits, and 24/7 video chats with healthcare providers.
This tip is a direct response to the verified user complaint about the electronic card being missing or obscured, and the instability causing log-outs mid-transaction. The suggestion to use a screenshot or digital wallet is a common user workaround for such issues.

- No high-engagement negative, positive, or mixed supplemental reviews were available to provide a balanced view.
- Claims labeled 'medium' confidence are based on a single specific complaint that aligns with a broader theme of frustration.
- No real-world app testing was conducted.
- Feature availability may vary by region, device, and app version.

4★Update 3/18/26: Every so slowly it is getting better. I'm willing to say that it's decent. There are pretty regular updates and the overall UI/UX seem to be getting better with every release. most of the really annoying bugs are fixed. I do have to choose a payment method every time, but I'm crossing my fingers that it will be fixed. If the prescription checkout flow was as good as the shopping flow it would be a pure 5 stars.

3★I've used this expensively over the years, but lately, each update has made the app more and more inefficient. Where is my electronic card - the single most important item for checking out and it's either not there or buried so obscure that neither I nor the store clerk can find it! Today, I wanted to check coupons, but 75% of the screen is a fixed Welcome note! The space at the bottom has the task bar, which is not movable! I can see 1 line of coupon! Fix it!

3★Some features are easy to navigate but others you have to either figure it out or get help. I can't imagine the shopping online at CVS as an elderly. It's not easy to switch credit cards because of the default. It not easy to shop online for pickup when the store doesn't have items stocked alot. The options for shipping or delivery isn't helpful. For pickup orders, customer should be told in text when something is out of stock and not find out when they pickup. I'm glad you're improving but.

3★The app is glitchy. At times it logs me out mid-transaction and forces me to completely log in and redo my transactions, this repeats until it finally goes through, but it doesn't give any confirmation that the transaction completed and I have to wait for the confirmation email. It is very convenient, though, it shows what medications you have refills due and available, and allows you to put in for a refill and even have the refill delivered to your address.

1★one of the worst apps I've seen. Trying to load coupons is a nightmare. when you scroll through and opt for more details on a particular item , the app brings you back to the first item and then you must scroll through again to find out where you left off. with what seems like a hundred or more sale items this is totally frustrating. Also the app doesn't let you scroll because there's no scroll bar to use. It also has very little space left on the screen to see the sale items.
